Description
Help protect your Max-Prop propeller with a zinc anode. Make sure you always keep your anodes in good condition. They should be replaced at least once a year. The Max-Prop anode has a metal ring molded into it. This metal ring goes around the entire diameter where the screws secure the anode to the propeller. This ring distributes the electric current through the entire anode giving it a much longer life. Even with the metal ring, Seaview Progress recommends, when installing the anode, to clean the flat surface and the back of the propeller so as to ensure good contact between the anode and the propeller. . This will greatly increase the life of the anode. It’s always a good idea to have zinc anodes available, you never know when you will need them.

They look very nice, and the embedded steel band should be a big improvement on the standard anodes, but unfortunately the size which was indicated on the paperwork on my boat (which I only bought just over one year ago) was wrong, so the 83-ZIN anodes are too large. I have re-ordered the correct 70-ZIN, now that my boat is out of the water and I have been able to measure the hole spacings on the prop.
